Veteran Move-In Kits

Helping Veterans Turn Housing Into Home

Moving into permanent housing is an exciting new beginning, but many veterans arrive with little more than the belongings they can carry. An empty apartment may provide safety and shelter, but basic household essentials are still needed to make it feel like home.

Riverbank’s Veteran Move-In Kit Program helps veterans transitioning out of homelessness, temporary housing, or other difficult circumstances begin their next chapter with dignity, comfort, and stability.

What Is Included in a Move-In Kit?

Because Riverbank’s inventory is entirely donation-based, the contents of each kit is created based on the veteran’s individual needs and the donations currently available. Items may include:

  • Bedding, pillows, and towels

  • Dishes, cups, and silverware

  • Pots, pans, and cooking utensils

  • Basic cleaning supplies

  • Laundry and personal-care essentials

  • Small household items

  • Pantry staples

  • Furniture and appliances, when availableach kit may vary.

Request a Move-In Kit

Veterans, case managers, social workers, and community partners are welcome to submit a request.

To help us understand the veteran’s situation and current needs, please complete our assistance request form below

Submitting a request does not guarantee assistance. All requests are reviewed based on urgency, location, available inventory, delivery capacity, and the needs of the household. If Riverbank is able to assist, a member of our team will contact the person listed on the form.

Please submit only one request per household.
